The federal government released a new 5-year offshore oil and gas leasing plan on Thanksgiving, kicking off a 60-day comment period that ends on January 23rd, 2026. Since BOEM will not host formal hearings for the public to comment, groups up and down the coast of California are hosting People's Hearings, a grassroots alternative. Join us at 4:30 p.m. for pizza, soft drinks, and the chance to learn more about local organizations tabling. The program begins at 5:15, followed by guest speakers, a public comment period, and networking time.
